TEXT: Luke 1: 26-38
"In the sixth month, God sent the angel Gabriel to a town in Galilee called Nazareth, to a young bride to a man named Joseph, of the lineage David, the girl's name was Mary. The angel went where it was Mary and said:
- Hail, full of grace, the Lord is with you.
Hearing these words, she was troubled and wondered what this greeting meant. The angel said
- Do not be afraid, Mary, for God has found favor. Conceive and bear a son, and you shall call his name Jesus. He will be great, will called the Son of the Most High, the Lord God will give him the throne of David his father, he will reign over the lineage of Jacob forever and his kingdom will never end.
Mary asked the angel:
- How can this be, if I have no relations with any man?
The angel answered
"The Holy Spirit will come upon you and the power of the Most High will overshadow you: therefore the child to be born will be holy and is called the Son of God. Look, your relative Elizabeth has also conceived a son in his old age, and is already six months everyone had to sterile, because for God nothing is impossible.
Mary said
-Behold the handmaid Lord's happening to me as you say.
And the angel left her. "
